Back to Section: General information
WF470WIN as Windows program uses WINDOWS character codes for alphanumeric characters. For the majority of characters, the codes correspond with those of WF470. You can continue to use all of the characters, which you were able to use up until now to configure WF470 in list IDs, list names, message texts and comment fields, under WF470WIN.
WINDOWS codes special characters §,Ä,ä,ö,Ö,ü,Ü and ß, in the range above 7F hex. These characters are not compatible with the WF470. Although they are correctly displayed in WF470WIN, they result in erroneous displays on the board.
Thus, we recommend that you do not use special characters even if these do not appear on the WF470 display in normal process operation, for example, for list IDs or list names.
Several restrictions associated with CP/M / MSDOS configuring have been extended or have been completely eliminated in WF470WIN. If upward compatibility is to be kept, please observe the restrictions listed in the following table:
Standard text list |
Number of characters per text |
73 |
75 |
Sequence chain groups |
Maximum size |
24kB |
64kB |
Process displays |
Number of characters in the comment fields |
78 |
80 |
For reports, which are configured using the "automatic page formatting = N" (compatible to reporting V2.x), the following should be observed:
If this report is to include a report header or footer, then a separating line must be configured, as the configuration page header and/or page footer without separating line was not permitted for V2.0. Otherwise, the print-out will be erroneous.
