The existing version V1.3 is available in German,
English, French and Russian.

The program can be installed under WINDOWS 95/98 or NT.
Operating on PU or PC is possible. The creation of EPROMs 
is done via an integrated Eprommer for PUs or an external
Eprommer for PCs (see programming units at SIMATIC).


Installation under WINDOWS 95/98
--------------------------------
Please start SETUP.EXE from the CD and follow the instructions
of the program.


Installation under WINDOWS NT
-----------------------------
Please start SETUP.EXE from the CD and follow the instructions
of the program.

In order to install the EPROM driver, administration rights are required.

Attention: when step 5 is already installed, the EPROM driver 
must not be installed again. In this case, answer the relevant 
question with no.


Copy protection for WF470WIN
----------------------------
Copy protection is solved without authorization diskette. The
buyer gains the right of installation on a PC hardware.
A backup of the installation on diskette is not required.
In special cases (e.g. scrapping of the PC), an installation
on a new hardware is possible by assigning a new licence 
number.

- The registration must be done with the PC on which WF470WIN 
  shall be operated.
- An individual licence number is required for each PC.
After the start, WF470WIN prompts for registration. 
WF470WIN finds an identification number on the hardware of the PC
and displays it. Under phone no. +49/911/750 2045 you are requested
to indicate this identification number and the delivery note number
and are given your licence number which belongs to this PC and which
you can enter in the corresponding field.

In case of emergency, an operation without registration is possible.  


WF470WIN Help
-------------
After the installation you can start the WF470WIN Help with the
start menu (icon "WF470DOC") or after the start of WF470WIN by
entering "Help, help topics" in the menu. For doing so, you 
require an Internet browser, which has normally already been
installed with WINDOWS 95 or WINDOWS NT. A printable version
of Help can be found on the CD in the directory "\Doc\English" 
You can print it with MICROSOFT WORD 97.

Copying projects to the current software
----------------------------------------
Copy the project on a diskette and please generate the project
directory again with KA470. Also see in Help, chapter General,
Compatibility as well as chapter Project Management, Copying

Deinstallation of WF470WIN
--------------------------
The deinstallation should only be done in WINDOWS.
START//SETTINGS//SYSTEM CONTROL//SOFTWARE.


Well-known problems
-------------------
When the message prompting for registration shows up,
a currently active EPROM programming might be interrupted.


Connecting cable
----------------
Connecting cable PG 7xx for WF470 (5m): 6FM1 490-1FB00

Connecting cable PC for WF470: 
The converter of S5 (20mA/V24) 6ES5 734-1BD20 is plugged in the
PC. The adapter between this converter and the WF470 can be
generated according to the plan mentioned in chapter Help: 
Configuring, Overview, Connecting cable.
A 24 V connection (P 24 M) to the WF470 is required.


Multiple installation

In order to install the program on several PCs, multiple licences
are available, for which several licence numbers are distinguished.

 - Insertion of standard texts in comment fields when generating
   pictures online
   If the comment fields contain standard texts, these are now even 
   output during picture generation on the WF470 monitor instead of 
   the standard text number. Any changes in the standard texts during 
   image generation are displayed on the WF monitor as soon as the 
   corresponding comment field is output anew. 

 - Sequence of the pixels from the display elements
   The sequence of the pixels when generating a picture in generation 
   mode and in the process picture list can now be configured in 
   WF470WIN.INI. As required, the strings "WSCBV" and "VSWCB" 
   (default settings) can be modified by the user. The sequence of 
   letters within the string indicates the sequence of processing.
   If an error is detected, the default setting is used and stored again.
