INSTALLING THE 611 U SYSTEM SOFTWARE
====================================

Siemens grants their customers the right, which is revocable at any time, to copy and
duplicate the software stored on the data carrier exclusively for their needs.


Directories on the CD-ROM
-------------------------
The sub directories contain several software versions.
xx_yy_zz designates the corresponding software version.


Installing the 611 U system software:
-------------------------------------
After you have installed the "SimoComU" program, you can install the
611 U system software on the controller board.

It is not absolutely necessary to install the 611 U system software, as the
611 U board is supplied with the software already loaded into it.

- connect your PC to the 611 U via the RS232 interface

- insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive of your PC.	 

- start "SimoComU" on your PC

- go "online"

- select the menu items "Extras" -> "Service" -> "Firmware upgrade"

- select the "611u.ufw" file on the CD-ROM in the "Sys611U\xx_yy_zz" directory. 


Floppy disk version
===================
You may generate floppy disks from the contents of the CD-ROM by copying
the file 611u.ufw from Sys611U\xx_yy_zz to a floppy disk.

In den Unterverzeichnissen befinden sich verschiedene Softwarestaende.
xx_yy_zz bezeichnet dabei den entsprechenden Softwarestand.


Installieren der 611 U Systemsoftware:
--------------------------------------
Nachdem Sie das Programm "SimoComU" installiert haben, koennen Sie damit die
611 U Systemsoftware auf die Reglerbaugruppe installieren.

Das Installieren der 611 U Systemsoftware ist nicht zwingend notwendig, da die
611 U-Baugruppe mit Software bespielt geliefert wird.

- Verbinden Sie ihren PC mit dem 611 U ueber die RS232-Schnittstelle

- Legen Sie die CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk ihres PCs ein.	 

- Starten Sie "SimoComU" auf ihrem PC

- Gehen Sie "online"

- Waehlen Sie die Menuepunkte "Extras" -> "Service" -> "Firmware-Hochruestung"

- Waehlen Sie die Datei "611u.ufw" auf der CD-ROM im Directory "Sys611U\xx_yy_zz". 



Diskettenversion
================
Sie koennen sich aus dem Inhalt der CD-ROM auch Disketten erstellen.
Dazu kopieren Sie die Datei 611u.ufw aus Sys611U\xx_yy_zz auf eine Diskette

611 U Systemsoftware auf die Reglerbaugruppe installieren.

Das Installieren der 611 U Systemsoftware ist nicht zwingend notwendig, da die
611 U-Baugruppe mit Software bespielt geliefert wird.

- Verbinden Sie ihren PC mit dem 611 U ueber die RS232-Schnittstelle

- Legen Sie in ihr Diskettenlaufwerk ihre Diskette mit "611 U Systemsoftware" ein	 

- Starten Sie "SimoComU" auf ihrem PC

- Gehen Sie "online"

- Waehlen Sie die Menuepunkte "Extras" -> "Serivce" -> "Firmware-Hochruestung"

- Waehlen Sie die Datei "611u.ufw" auf ihrer Diskette aus.
